Member opinion: In Salawas, south of Jodhpur, north of Udaipur. We watched as weavers carefully crafted rugs from local cotton dyed with vegetable colours in the most vibrant hues imaginable. The looms are primitive, made from tree branches but the work is exquisite. They spread 20 carpets in front of us so that we could choose the patterns and then the colours for the one we ordered! The prices are incredible! What a bargain!
