Hi there! Welcome to my travel log. Usually, I don't take notes or keep a journal on my trips and travels. I rely completely on photos as they are self explanatory and are the best memory log. I hope you will enjoy them.

Apr 14, 2003 06:00 PM Wind turbines on the Countryside

Wind turbines on the Countryside A common feature in an intense agriculture country is the use of wind turbines for energy. I am told that the energy generated is enough to power a few house holds and there is even a law which provides that excess energy could be sold to the government and energy providers giving more incentive to farmers to participate in such a program encouraging the use of renewable energies.

Apr 11, 2003 06:00 PM International Exhibition on Agriculture and Renewable Energy

International Exhibition on Agriculture and Renewable Energy I attended this exhibition with a group of friends as this would afford us the opportunity to explore the theoritical concepts that we have learned on the use of renewable energies and sustainable agriculture. In this photo, we are taking a break from the long walk around the complex.

Mar 12, 2003 09:00 PM Gleis 17 - Monument

Gleis 17 - Monument It is difficult to write about something as horrible as a holocaust but it is a true historical fact. The Monument erected in the outskirts of Berlin was dedicated to the victims that were subjected to the attrocities during WWII. There were railway tracks that would take the victims to destination of their doom. It felt somewhat eiree looking at the tracks and to walk on the graves of these victims.

Mar 12, 2003 09:00 PM Abandoned Railway Tracks

Abandoned Railway Tracks These tracks were constructed to take prisoners and victims of the WWII into cencentration camps in the East, mostly they were killed even before they reached the destination. The railway tracks were kept as part of the monument so that the younger generations and tourists that visited Gleis 17 would be able to see for themselves evidence of this tragic history.

Mar 11, 2003 09:00 PM Berlin - Sightseeing

Berlin - Sightseeing Although the rest of the participants have left Berlin, Nicole, Luis and I decided to stay behind and explore this wonderful historical city. Here, just half and hour away from Potsdam, Nicole and I are standing infront of the Wansee YMCA.

Mar 10, 2003 09:00 PM Berlin - Outing with Dr. Schöppe

Berlin - Outing with Dr. Schöppe The 2-day seminar at the Federal Environment Agency has ended and Dr. Schöppe offered to take us around Berlin for a city tour. He firstly took us to the Reichtag (in which this photo was taken, to the Berlin wall and later to lunch at a nice and cozy vietnamese restaurant located in Downtown Berlin.

Mar 09, 2003 09:00 PM Standing on where Berlin Wall Was

Standing on where Berlin Wall Was It is nearly 14 years since the re-unification of Germany and it is then that the wall that divided Berlin between the east and west was brought down. It was all around the city but the most apparent was just a few hundred metres away from the Reichstag. Here in this photo Luis found the markings of the wall and pointed at the date that it came down. It was in the middle of the street but we managed to capture there scene.
