Bangkok is a multifaceted city! Shopping is great, and so is the nightlife! Wat Phra Kaeo is a sight to behold with all that gold and shimmer around. Transport around the city is relatively cheap in bigger groups in taxis (you can cram in more that the usual max 4 persons!), but beware of the bangkok traffic jams! Also take the skytrain and MRT to zip around town, though they do not travel to all parts of the city. A stop by at the famous Chatuchak Weekend market is a must must must stop in Bangkok (reachable by skytrain/MRT) so plan your trip to at least have a weekend here! You will take hours here walking/deciding/looking/comtemplating/buying....
Feb 02, 2006 12:00 AMChiangmai for 3 days.
Chiangmai's attractions are very spread out from the city. If you have the luxury of time to spend in Chiangmai, don't miss out on the day/ night markets, elephant camp, waterfalls mountains! I didn't get to see all though.. You must go up to Doi Suthep temple up in the mountains near the city.. It has gorgeous architecture, not to mention a great view of the city below! There are steps up leading from the main roads, but it's not really tiring, but you could also take the funicular up. The elephant camps in Maeping are hours by car but still worth it for the experience. There are also orchid farms for those "hunters".
Feb 01, 2006 12:00 AMOff to Bangkok, then onward to Chiangmai the next day
Just a night stopover in Bangkok before going to Chiangmai. Caught a glimspe of the nightlife- What a nightlife! Just barely slept 2 hours before catching the flight to Chiangmai at 8 in the morning..
Dec 21, 2005 12:00 AMKeeping it going in Korea..
This week wasn't so cold.. Which was weird cos I was getting used to it by piling loads of layers of winterwear on me! Hahaha!.. There wasn't any snow except on the 18th on this island.
On the weekend of Xmas, I spent them in Seoul visiting the tourist attractions that i've not done yet. Surprisingly there are quite a lot to see in Seoul, but I think that was because I didn't do my research before this. The palaces do take a few hours to cover each. And Namsan park/Seoul Tower can already take up half of your day if you plan to do the climb up.
Many Koreans were in strong force out in the city on X'mas day! While many others prefer to rest at home. These would be the ones that do not celebrate it. I was really amazed to see this chaos almost everywhere in town.
The places I visited last weekend was Namsan Park/Seoul Tower, Jongmyo and Changdeokgung palace. The last 2 were designated as UNESCO sites. Pictures will come up here soon when I have time to sort them out.. They are a unreviewed at the moment...
Check back soon!
Dec 05, 2005 12:00 AMFreezing in Incheon
Here for another 2 weeks in Incheon. My my! The weather is really cold! The wind just makes it much more worse! There was a snow storm on the first week.. But now most of that snow on the ground has melted.. I'm just waiting for the next snowfall, as i've never ever seen a snowfall in my life before!! Hopefully it snows this week.... *crossing fingers*
Nov 17, 2005 12:00 AMBack in Incheon for one more week
Returned to Incheon for work. For the past month or so, I've gotten used to the life here.. If you can spot the cluster of people in the field below, they're filming some Korean drama scene..
This is the view from my hotel room. Incheon International Airport is the building in the background.
Nov 13, 2005 12:00 AMNarita for 4 days
Hopped on over to Narita for work from Korea. Narita is the town that has Japan's International Airport in it. The town centre is small and places are accessible on foot and definitely lots of place to try Japanese food!... There is a large temple but I didn't have time to explore it.. If you know a little Japanese, it goes a long way! Tokyo is more than an hour by train.
PS. From your hotel there should be a free bus to the town centre.
Nov 07, 2005 12:00 AMIncheon for a week
Back in Incheon for work after the Muslim celebrations of Aidilfitri (called "Hari Raya" in Singapore and Malaysia)... It was a good one this year! But work beckons....
Oct 20, 2005 12:00 AMIncheon for 12 days

Aug 21, 2005 12:00 AMIncheon for a week...
Another work week overseas.... There's nothing for sighseeing in Incheon island, where the Seoul International Airport is at.
