I just returned from a week in the Bahamas. What a relaxing, fun-filled trip! The weather was beautiful...the timeshare we stayed in was perfect, and the people were unbelievably friendly. The jitney (public transportation) only costs a dollar and takes you all over the island. It stops running at 7 pm which is a drawback since cabs aren't cheap. Did lots of shopping, eating, drinking, and sunbathing. Snorkeling was good on Rose Island (we took a day trip thru Island Adventures). Things I wish I knew before I went: groceries are extremely expensive. Don't even bother with anything more than the bare essentials. Eating out is cheaper. The straw market is a huge shopping area downtown. You can bargain with the people selling their goods.. I talked a few items down at least 15.00 dollars! We stayed at Westwind Club at Cable Beach. It was not large and extravagant, but was so quaint and friendly. We met everyone staying there and really enjoyed ourselves.
