This main town on the island of Djerba is officially called "Houmt Souk". It has many names; Humt-Suk, Houmet Essouk, Jerba, Houmt Souq, Hawmat as Suq, Humk-Suk, Houmet Es Souk because in thousands of years of history this island was always visited by so many different t people from all around the Mediterranean of very different religions and races.
