Jinja is a lovely little colonial town at the Lake Victoria, which also claims to be the home of the source of the Nile, which is disputed by a few places in other countries in the region. Jinja is also a centre for daredevil sports, like very rough white water rafting - so bad that people often do not enjoy it at all. Jinja has a solid Indian community, which is evident through numerous Hindu temples, which stand so near to mosques by the way. The town has a very vibrant nightlife and the quality of some the clubs and bars is outstanding! Main avenues are lined with single storey houses with patios extending onto the pavement providing shade for the pedestrians. [edit text][editors]
