Alushta is a sea resort on the shore of the Black Sea. There is almost nothing interesting in the city, only several relics of the Soviet times. It's best for laying on the beach or as a base camp for some hikes around. Go to the Aju-dag mountain, as well as Chatyrdag - one of the most magnificent ranges in the Crimean Mountains. There are also many caves that are available to visitors on day-long tours. There are many tours organised by local travel agencies whose stalls you can find all over the city. It's better to stay here than Yalta. The facilities are very similar, but Alushta is much cheaper. [edit text][editors]
