Odessa is one of the largest cities in the Ukraine with population of ca. 1 million. It's relatively young as it was set up about two hundred years ago. This place used to be a melting pot of nations and cultures, but now there are many changes going on in the city and all over the country. Many travellers make Odessa their stopover en route for Crimea (and so did I). Being the biggest seaport of the Ukraine Odessa has ferry connections with Poti, Batumi, Istanbul and Varna.
