Dubayy (Dubai) is an anomaly in the UAE and in many ways has become very western. It is experiencing rapid growth and buildings are going up fast and furious; but it's like a big building site.
The city is being defined by its buildings - the ‘wave’ of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the ‘sail’ of the Burj Al Arab and now the Burj Dubai a state of the art building which is scheduled to become the world’s tallest.
The city is split into two by the Dubai Creek; to the west Deira, where you’ll find the Gold/Spice Souks and to the east Bur Dubai where you’ll find the financial district dominated by the Emirates Twin Towers. [edit text][editors]
