Aberdaron is the last village at the end of the lovely Lleyn Peninsula in Gwynnedd, Wales, sticking out beyond the Snowdonia National Park. This position gives it a privileged climate and it's often possible to look up to the Snowdonian mountains and see the rain falling, while you are yourself in bright sun.
Aberdaron has a good beach for those who just want to stay put. However it is at least as appealing for those who fancy a walk round the gorgeous bays beyond it up and down scenic headlands where, among other sights, you can train your binoculars onto Bardsea Island.
It's also only a short run in a car to the delightful beach of Porth Oer [Whistling Sands.]
The southern coast of the peninsula back towards Rhiw is less known but there is some outstanding beauty there. [edit text][editors]
