Grasington is one of the prettiest villages in the Dales. This , of course, brings the downside of crowds arriving in coaches and you may have a long wait for lunch in a pub or cafe during the season.
You might be better off having a quick look and then moving on to enjoy a ramble, taking a picnic with you. There are good walks to the old lead mines near the village [care needed with children or dogs], a wonderful limestone woodland at nearby Grass Wood and a delightful walk along limestone terraces towards Kettlewell.
