Stratford upon Avon is the heart of Shakespeare country. It's a fantastic place to learn more about the man and enjoy being in the countryside. I stayed in the Alveston Manor which is a beautiful timbered framed Tudor manor house and dates back to the time of Shakespeare, and is situated on the south side of the flowing River Avon.
Within the surrounding area there is the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Warwick Castle, the Cotswolds, magnificent stately homes, beautiful rolling hills and more of the glorious heart of England to explore. [edit text][editors]
