Achiltibuie is a wonderful place. It‘s the nearest point on the coast to the lovely Summer Islands [boat access] and it commands truly outstanding coastal scenery. Just north of it, there is a marvellous beach at Achnahaird.
There are two routes by road to Achiltibuie; one is an unclassified road leading from the A385 at Drumnunie, south of Ledmore past fine mountain and loch scenery. The other is by one of the most beautiful [but winding, narrow and hilly] coastal roads in the UK from Lochinver. It’s possible [and beautiful] to walk round the cliffs to Blughasary but you’ll either need to walk back or have transport waiting.
There is a very good smokehouse in the village. [edit text][editors]
