Arisaig lies just at the south end of the ‘Silver Sands of Morar’ where the Road to the Isles [via Mallaig!] and the Fort William to Mallaig railway meet the coast. It’s a spectacular piece of coast, not only because of the terrific beaches and, more immediate the rocky Loch nan Ceall, finely seen fro the station which is above the town. The most awesome thing about it is the view of the Small Isles that it provides.
In the summer Arisaig provides an alternative to Mallaig as a port for the islands of Eigg, Muck and Rum. It allows a reasonable length stop on Eigg and Rum. See the travel tip on Arisaig Marine. [edit text][editors]
