Holyhead is best known as the nearest UK port to Dublin, situated as it is to the far west of the Island of Anglessey.
However it is a place worth a visit in its own right. near it is the grandiloquently named Holyhead mountain, no ore than a hill but one giving fabulous views as the rest of Anglessey is very flat.
The cliffs near here at North and South Stacks are very picturesque and at South Stacks there is an RSPB (bird) reserve with wonderful views in the breeding season of choughs as wel as numerous types of seabird - including puffins. [edit text][editors]
