Where can i find great gorillas national parks to do treking and visit it in Uganda???
Is so difficult to do from Kampala?
Is it really expensive or can i arrange everything by free?

Hello
I haven't been to Uganda but I met people who were there. It seems that nothing if for free there except mosquitoes. The single day with gorrillas will cost you 200 USD and you must book in advance otherwise it is question of luck (the access to the park)

The gorillas can be found in the very West/Southwest of Uganda. It's quite far from Kampala, so you'd have to stay overnight to be there at about 8 in the morning.
I haven't been to Uganda, but I will go there from Feb. till April. I bought a good guidebook called Uganda Handbook (Footprint).
Good luck, Stefanie

There's a site, I think it's called gapyear.com, that arranges gorilla treks in Uganda. It's really really not something that you should try and arrange yourself, particularly if you want to go to the Unpenetrable Forest (think that's what it's called!) They have a lot of problems with guerilla terrorist groups in that part of Uganda, and I was told that if you wanted to go sightseeing in that part of the country you had to have an armed guard. Have a look at the foreign office's website, knowbeforeyougo.co.uk

Oh, this is absolutely wrong, Sammy!
I just got back from Uganda and went gorilla tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (although we didn't find them, grrr!), and there is absolutely no problem in arranging it all by yourself. It's very easy, just take a bus and then stay a night in the park before leaving on the trek the next morning. There are NO safety problems at all. Some years ago there was a guerilla attack on a tourist group, but since then the groups are being accompanied by armed guards, plus there are many more guards present in the whole park, so now it is very safe.

Sorry! My fault for being gullible enough to listen to the foreign office! Glad to hear the country's safer than I thought as I'm going there for two weeks soon and the foreign office website makes it sound terrifying!
