Backpacking in China

So far I would like to see beijing, yangzhou, and shanghai. I am wondering about what other sites I should visit, they don't have to be in a city. I would also like to visit some temples. I also do martial arts, though I don't plan on training over there, I would like to see some things related to martial arts. I think that my main form of transportation will be by bike, and/or by train depending on how far. I am not sure how far my money will go, so I would like to keep the trip expenses at a minimum. IN Beijin, there are some place u have to visit, such as Grate wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and the Sacred way...ohhhh there are so many place to suggest. Beijing is good for historical tours and sightseeings Shanghai is good if you want to see a blend of East and West with the old towns of Shanghai interlacing with the skyscrapers. Temples-- basically almost every province in China has one temple, but the place place for temple tours and sightseeing is Beijing and Tibet. We just got back from a fantastic trip up to the Great Wall. We actually slept ON the wall in a watchtower. Our kids loved it. The food was excellent and the trip was well organized.
