Mister Wojciech, with respect for a great traveler like you, I want to give you advise about a place where I have been and you not.
I am now over 80 years old, but I am alpinist, and 10 years ago I climbed to Mount Sinai from the monastery of St. Catherine. It took me about 3 hours, quietly, enjoying the nature.
There are two ways, one using the steps and another one following a path. I advise you to climb through the path way and going down through the steps.
I slept there, besides a little chapel. I advise you very much to spend the night there, although it uses to be cold, so bring a good sleeping bag. The sun rising in the morning is spectacular!!!
There is a hostel close to the monastery, and also you can spend the night inside the monastery, in a dormitory, for not much money. The monks are from Greece.
There are buses from Cairo direct to Sinai.
Enjoy that lovely part of the world!
