Fiji - inter-island transport?

I know only the route to the Yasawas? Flights are rather expensive. Did you hear about reliable and inexpensive ferries? On the way back i travelled from Taveuni back to Vanua Levu. The ferries to my recollection were pretty old and the toilets left a lot to be desired after some time. The journey was rather long but if you have time to spare it is all part of the experience. I also took a ferry from Viti Levu to Ovalau. Patterson Brothers run several routes. Suite 1 & 2 Epworth House, Nina Street, Private Mail Bag, Suva Tel: 3315644; Fax: 3301652; Tlx: FJ2 Consort shipping go Suva to Taveuni via Koro and Savusavu. Grnd Flr Dominion House Arcade, Thomson Street, Suva. Tel: (679) 3302877; Fax: (679) 3303389 There are a few other companies and you could of course opt for something more luxurious! Check out my travel tips for places i stayed in Fiji. All were very reasonably priced and the owners friendly. In fact the ladies from Ovalau and Suva were related!
