Hi Globies
Since many years I am trying to visit
Saudi Arabia. So far no chance!
Any advice? - how to get the visa
for independent visit to Saudi Arabia?

you could use the search machine <www.google.de>
and ask for "Visa Saudi arabia" or "Saudi arabia". It gives information in English too. It even tells you what you can do if you are refused.

Thanks for advice.... Yes, I jumped there but the news are
rather bad: No tourist visas! You have to have saudi company as a sponsor to obtain regular business visa,
But who will invite the backpacker?
The only chance is 3-days road transit Jordan to Yemen. But
you need to drive the car!
This is a call to Saudi Globies: HELP PLEASE!

Why don't you try <www,google.de> again and look for "Travel agency Saudia arabia"? Maybe it is a possibility to get into the country with a group and maybe they let you off the hook and you are able to get around alone?

Wojtek, I worked long years in KSA and we always had to go
to nearest embassy or consulate in our home country.
In your case, I guess you must go to Warsaw Embassy or to
Gdansk consulate.
But be awre of the fact that the visas are quite expensive!
(What do you want to see in KSA, except sand dunes and
desert) Whereas, I have to admit, snorkelling and diving
on the west coast (north and south of Jeddah) is really
something!!!!!

Don't think I did nothing! I have been twice in Saudi
embassy in Warsaw. The answer is: NO except you are Moslem on pilgreemage or have official invitation from your business partner in Saudia. I found a friend in Saudia but he responsed: it is very difficult to get this paper.
Why Saudia? Bacause I saw already rest of MidEast and I know it is diffrent. Different people, modern architecture in the desert and quite nice landscapes in the south.
