Hi Globies

One of my friends is reporting that on arrival to India they check if you have return ticket... True?

Does anybody has any experience?

Thanks

Last, January, at Mumbai Airport I was not asked to show my return ticket. Nobody was. Neither was I asked to show my ticket when I applied for my visa in The Hague.

Where are you planning to go in India?

Hi

i went to india (Delhi) in late Jan 06 and there was no requirement to show a return ticket. however when departing to kashmir from delhi airport, upon arrival in kashmir, a plainclothes policeman stopped my tour group and asked us to show our return tix and to fill up details such as no, of people, passport no., duration of stay and place of stay in kashmir.

hope the info helps.

My understanding is that exit tickets are required if you apply for the less expensive "Transit Visa" which is only good for 15 days. They are not required for a 6 month visa. Your friend may be applying for a "Transit Visa".
