Tony, I tried to find whose monument this is and spent hours, but found nothing. This really must be someone unimportant! It looks like this is one of the Emperors, who occupied this palace. Perhaps other Globies know who this is.

I believe this to be the statue of Franz 1 of Austria who was also Franz !! of the Holy roman Empire about 1806. Statue constructed 1842/46 with the four figures representing Peace Might Faith and Justice. The Emperor is dressed in a Roman Toga. I hope I read the correct website

a friend in Vienna confirmed Hugh's information about Franz I of Austria, the monument was created by the Italian sculptor Pompeo Marchesi.
