Located on Madeline Island in the far north of Wisconsin, this state park has a lot to offer people who like to camp and hike. The island is a short ferry ride away from the picturesque town of Bayfield, and offers some nice hiking trails as well as outstanding wooded campsites. The bluffs along the shore are impressive and can be visited in kayaks and canoes when the lake is calm.
During our weekend there we saw dozens of deer, and had fun exploring the Lake Superior shoreline.
Be sure to check the weather before you go as it is very far north and can be quite cold, even in the summertime.
