Sri Lanka or Serendipity Island is full of surprise. Around every corner something new appears. On every reservoir (called tanks here) and there are many, each huge in size and ancient in their construction, you will find fishermen of all ages, using every means possible to get a catch. When you reach the coast, once again, every age old trick to catch fish is known to the fisherman and it is just enthralling to watch them. Once caught a visit to the fish markets to see the activity of the dealers and fishmongers is fascinating.
I hope that my slide show details some of the methods used and shows some of the fishy surprises in store as you travel around this gem of an island!
