The pictures here were taken during a 3 week overland trip from Halong Bay in North Vietnam near to the Chinese border down to the Mekong Delta in South Vietnam. We took in many rural and mountain areas as well as the major cities of Hanoi, Saigon, Dalat, Nha Trang, Hue and Hoi An. This was probably one of the best journeys I have ever undertaken anywhere in the world. It was incredibly cheap by western standards and the food, even in rural areas was delicious. The standard of hotels and the service shames many found in the west at 5 times the price.
