Last week a series of powerful wind storms hit the coasts of Washington & Oregon, leaving the area with wide-spread damages & power outages. About 10 people are dead in the aftermath. I live east of Seattle & was without power for four days. I sat in the dark, listening to a battery-powered radio, hearing about ordinary people getting thru so many hardships & helping one another. After four day with no hot water to take a shower, I went to an emergency shelter, which sent me to a health club, offering free hot showers to all neighbors without power. When I got home my power was back on. But there are still others who won't have power back on for up to a month; including many elderly & isolated; & thru the holiday season.

Those who want to help can call Red Cross in Seattle & Portland.

That is scary! Man can go to the moon but not predict or prepair for extreme weather properly. New Orleans is still under re-construction!
