Every year our schools are closed for some days during the carnival season - a good opportunity to plan a ski week in the Alps, in the intriguing border triangle between Austria, Italy and Switzerland near the Reschenpass.
We stayed in Nauders/Tyrol. If you also want to try some other ski slopes you can take the skibus from Nauders and reach Schöneben or Belpiano in Italy within a few minutes. Or you go to the duty-free Swiss village of Samnaun (28 km) where you can buy some great chocolate (or anything else) and take the double-decker cable railway to the top of the mountains. From there it is possible to cross the border back to Austria on skies and go downhill to Ischgl in the Paznaun valley.
