Jaisalmer is a wonder, standing out by itself in the Rajasthani Desert, near the Pakistani border. Sonar Kella, the hill top fort that protects this city, is a maze of alleys, courtyards, palaces and markets. 10,000 people still live within its walls. Just minutes away to the south is a small man made lake trimmed with cenotaphs and a beautiful city gate. To the north sits Bada Bagh - the burial place of Kings, a marvelous back drop for the sunset. On the east lies the desert and the opportunity to ride camel, the beast of burden in this part of the world.
