Amazing to think that within a relatively small quarter of the United States sit 7 National Parks, each offering a slightly different geological wonder. Enhancing all this are the various ruins and petroglyphs of the Ancient Pueblo people who once populated the area.
Our "Rock Tour" took us from South rim of the Grand Canyon, to Mesa Verde with its marvelous cliff dwellings, canyonlands and its amazing petroglyphs, Arches which contains 4,000...well...natural arches, then on to Capitol Reef and its stunning reveals of sedimentary layers, followed by Bryce Canyon's stunning HooDoos, Zion'z incredible canyon "Narrows" and ending back at the Grand Canyon, but this time the much more forested North Rim.
Beautiful hikes end in stunning vistas and we are constantly reminded of the earth's power as layers of molten rock and centuries old petrified sand dunes wield natures paint brush.
