Comedor de Tikal |

Your choices for food once you are inside Tikal National Park are the three over priced hotels or the Comedor. That's it. Placed just to the left of the information kiosk at the entrance to the ruins, the Comedor has long been a safe bet. It is little more than an open air, limited menu, square of concrete patio with a thatched roof and a small kitchen and grill, but what it lacks in ambiance it makes up for in cheap, quick, tasty meals. This is my third time to Tikal and, breakfast, lunch or dinner, I have yet to have a bad meal there. They will make sandwiches to go! Other offerings include taquitos and rellanos. Breakfast features eggs and chorizo - yum!
The only negative is that there is very little available for vegetarians. After a lot of discussion back and forth, we ended up with a avocado and tomato salad one day and an eggplant sandwich the next.
