Complete with showers and decent toilets, this is one of the best campgrounds in California. Sitting right on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, at $20 per camp space, it is a steal! That include access to beautiful Lester Beach, a great spot for putting in kayaks and small sail boats. Campsites are gracious and the surroundings are stunning! Each site has a grill and a fire ring - great for night time sing-alongs! There is a large Group Campsite with a capacity of 40. We had 23 people and plenty of space! There is a backpacker's campground as well - 14 trails criss-cross this large bay point, including a 4 mile trek to Vikingsholm Castle. Reserve EARLY - the website has dates by which to make reservations. These fill up, but of you watch the website, you sometimes can get last minute cancellations!
