Grand Ole Opry(& I am NOT a Country Fan) |
|
|
Several years ago I found myself in Nashville for a Conference. While I was there, I decided to take in the Grand Ole Opry, the last live Radio Performance show in the US, just for the experience. I am NOT a country music fan - it was FABULOUS. 3 hours long, each act performs only 2 or 3 songs then chages acts during the 4 minute commerical break. Performers share musicians, backup singers, equipment. New performers are featured alongside old (and I do mean Old) Greats, while others watch with such pleasure from the side wings. Clint Black rushed on stage impromptu to do backround vocals for no-name hopeful singer covering one of his hit. In today's world of Pop Star Divas, it was GREAT to see such mentoring and camaraderie. Go just for the experience!
