I felt like this was one of the few REALLY typical Guatemalan meals we had. It is not a buffet but instead you get to choose an entree and several side dishes from a large spread of pre-cooked stews and meats. The owner allowed us to taste several before making our final choice. The portions are large enough that we were able to share between ourselves. A number of the vegetables were things I've never seen anywhere else. The stews were spicy but not "caliente" and the rellenos, which were served as side dishes were excellent and came with a variety of stuffings. Add to that marvelous fried plantains and you have a meal fit for a Don!
The restaurant itself is very low key - there is an outside garden with tables or a roof top dinning area lit with candles at night. With beer and dessert, dinner ran $9 USD - what a deal!
