Valley View Trail Scenes, Pfeiffer Big Sur Park's by el2995

Big Sur - United States, California The Valley View Trail at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park (which is the park that most visitors associate with the Big Sur region) is quite nice. It is a one-way trail that takes about 90 minutes to walk up and back (longer if you stop to take a lot of photos!) I was going to take the Pfeiffer Falls Trail but learned online that it was closed at the time of the visit due to damage from an earlier fire. A section of the Pfieffer Falls Trail that goes to the waterfall is still open and can be accessed from the Valley View Trail. Definitely watch out for the poison oak! As you proceed south on Hwy 1, take the northmost (first) entrance to the park, head through the gate and stay to the right at the junction; the start of the Valley View and Pfeiffer Falls trails is not far from the Big Sur Lodge near the Information Center and museum.
