If you’re really into beef jerky (or hurting for a fois gras fix), definitely check out East San Jose’s Eurasia Delight in the Vietnamese Grand Century Mall on Story Road in Little Saigon. They sell a large assortment of beef jerkys in addition to dried seafood and both dried and pickled fruits (samples of which are available), along with an array of European foods including fois gras, pate, cookies and candies, and French butter and cheeses. The lemon grass beef jerky, which was the best of the samples that I tried, comes in cubed, hot, red and special varieties, with prices running $16 to $18 per pound. The deer jerky was also pretty good. The dried whole baby shrimp was interesting, though I didn’t get a chance to try the dried baby crabs. Grand Century Mall also has a good Vietnamese food court, and the Grand Century Bakery at the front entrance has really good green pandan waffles.
