Hi
My wife and I went to Paris in 1999 and we had a great time there...today we bought tickets to go to Paris again during Easter. We will spend 1 week in this wonderful city and I look forward to it of course. We got tickets to an OK price...SAS has a special offer in connection with the olympics so we got the tickets for 190 US dollars (per person) and it is even a direct flight from our hometown Stavanger to Paris :-) I just hope that we can rely on SAS. They have had some problems in the past with an ongoing dispute between the management and the pilots so a while back there were lots of cancellations. I hope that this won't happen when we are going to Paris. So now we just have to figure out what to see, where to eat, find a decent hotel etc :-)
Regards
Gard

Hi Gard
So it's "paques a paris" very well...
Do you mean we should give you some tips or was this more of a informative entry?
As for hotels I really liked the hotel Pavillon Bastille... ;-)
Have a great day

Hi
It was a combination post...a post to just let people know that I'm excited that I'm going to Paris again...and if people have any good recommendations of where to stay, eat etc they can share it with me. We have seen the basics such as Eiffel tower, arc de triomph, Louvre but I think that we will re-visit many of the places :-)
Regards

I would love to go back to Paris! I like the often missed Marmottan Museum which has a wonderful collection of impressionist paintings - some great Monets, Renoirs, etc. It is out by the Bois de Boulonge, which is a wonderful place to walk in itself.
For places to stay, I like the Roosevelt Hotel on Rue Clement Marot. It is a charming old property that has retain it's original style while being modernized. It is in the 8th, between George V and Champs Elysee. I lived across from it for a year in college and have stayed in it since. Easy walk to three Metro stations so very convenient!
Have a wonderful trip!

Hi Gard,
I've been to Paris, only for one day the year before. I was there for work and honestly I want to visit it again, because I think that is an amazing city. I've been to Hotel Daunou Opera, near the Louvre Museum and I've spent 70 euros for one night (I think that is not to much for the location). The only thing that I can suggest to you, is to check here : http://www.web-paris-hotels.com if you are searching for a good accommodation at low prices.
Good luck with your holiday in Paris!
Cheers,
Luca

Well, when I went last March, I stayed at the Hotel Innova near Pasteur station. It cost only 50 euros (this was in March after all) and was only a 10 min walk from thr Hotel Invalides, 15 min from the Tour Eiffel, three train stops from Notre Dame, and two train stops from the Arc de Triomphe.
It was clean, comfortable and cheap. Check it out here;
