I'll print a copy of the basic expression. I think I'll need to refer to them most of the time =)
The travlang link is especially useful with audio files ready.

Yes, I'm going to Barcelona and I'm staying with my friend.
I was told in Barcelona, people usually speaks Catalan than Spanish. Hence, I think it'll be good to know a few words. ;) At least to know how to say thank you !! A little too late to remember all of them. The "R" is especially hard for me. Nonetheless, I'll try my best ^^

Is unusual that the travelers that come to Barcelona know something about our history, culture and lenguage that we have. ¿?

I would love to learn/find a book on Mallorquin catalan, I went to a meeting in Mallorca to try to learn but the locals couldn't agree on what was correct themselves so of course,in true Mallorquina style, they had an argument and all left!! :-) My Father speaks mallorquin,as does my Padrina and I get so frustrated not to be able to learn, help would be most appreciated,

Wow, this is great, I just stumbled across this site, while trying to find educational sites for people who want to learn Malloquin/Catalan Spanish. Anybody happen to know what kind of Spanish is spokein in Manacor, Mallorca? I hope to go there soon for a vacation. Please help? --- A freakin' 12-gauge, what do you THINK?
