It's poignant to see red flowers on the grassy slope (poppies?) reminding us that once this ground was stained with blood from the vanquished troops of Edward the Black prince in 1355. Certainly this angle highlights the impregnable foreboding aspect of the outer Ramparts completed by Philip III, a lovely (and now peaceful) shot.
