Hi there,
I recieve more and more how to questions through the contact function. It would be great if you take those junior under your senior wings and give them a jumpstart.
I do direct them to the FAQ forum telling them that the senior members will be happy to help. I hope this is ok with you guys?

Andy,
Noticed your message with interest. Yes I am sure most of the members will be happy to help the new comers. I am defnitely happy and in the light of spending more time on line now am looking forward to doing just that. Anyone can write to me and I am happy to do what ever I can for them.
Cheers,

Good idea Andy, better than starting a new forum and there is so much under FAQ already which should answer a lot questions in advance. Its the best place for that and (not only) new members should glance through the titles now and again. --- Rudolf "Rangutan" Graspointner

Hi Andy...
What I don't get is, why do those junior Members use the contact funtion... Being junior they should take some time to find out that this is 'your' thing...
Anyway the (already a longtime ago suggested) welcome message and a howto guideline (improved faq) should help them...
I understand that it is quite bothering for you to always get the same questions to deal with instead of using your time improving the site... On the other hand if you get those questions over and over again you could rethink some functions or explications on the site to make it even more 'foolproof! If you ask us seniors... we are thinking in GLOBO schemes so we get round most problems because we are used to the way GLOBO is designed and the way you are thinking... IMHO be always aware of reocurring questions and think about it... decide is it just foolish or lazy or could the functions and design be improved...
Hope it helps
Have a great day!

I agree Martin, specially that a very basic "Guidline" email should be sent to members when joining. The site also needs a "Site-Map" like at lot have, for Places (already very good with use of the clickable map) but particularly for the Forums. As they grow they are becomming "undurchsichtbar" (complicated). In the Forums often the same subjects are re-opened and re-discussed because going back to look if the subject already exists is harder! (Even Staff have done this!)
Also, the opening (title) statement should be at the top (accordingly marked with a background colour) and the rest of the entries arranged cronologically newest-first, OR, the link should take one to the last entry directly!
P.S: Members note, for F.A.Q: The title should be a question for it to be affective there? --- Rudolf "Rangutan" Graspointner
