Hi all active members,
I do have trouble selecting a decent pic of the month for Febr.
Problem is that no fitting shots (couple of criterias e.g. vertical, not to many lines, must fit with the main page colors, good quality, original shot etc.) are inside the last uploads. There are 2 oder 3 possible candidates, but are not really satisfying. Especially because the current shot is just amazing.
I am thinking of skiping this month potm, but I am open ear for suggestions on fitting shots.
Let me please know what you think about it, and if you have suggestions (please include link).
Best regards,
andy

Like art, there is never a picture without some kind of critique or possible improvement. Members please nominate and note more during the month. So many pictures uploaded have a slight error in them like a dot or not level or neglected contrast of colours or light, or even focus, **** instead of *****, a pity. Amoungst SOME of my favourite pictures this month are:
www.globosapiens.net/peresabate/picture-nevados-huaraz-18462.html - contrast between smooth rolling hill, rugged mountain edges and cottonwool clouds. Uploaded on the 29th day of February, or, it might still have been February in Hawaii?
www.globosapiens.net/magsalex/picture-andersen-haven-18533.html - great colours!
www.globosapiens.net/nedkelly/picture-the-monument-18329.html - amazing monolith protruding from natural river scene. Crop as horizontal shot for M-Page?
www.globosapiens.net/nedkelly/picture-korean-memorial-18324.html and
www.globosapiens.net/nedkelly/picture-court-in-the-act-18309.html - both fantastic, many symbolic parts, later pity about the date stamp.
www.globosapiens.net/spaceout/picture-tip-of-the-small-island-of-sandals-cay-17964.html - check those tones of blue, sea lighter even than the sky!
www.globosapiens.net/spaceout/picture-parliament-square-downtown-nassau-18169.html
www.globosapiens.net/spaceout/picture-government-house-downtown-nassau-18206.html - the later, who rated that * and ** ?
www.globosapiens.net/britman/picture-petras-camel-finds-the-shade-17191.html
www.globosapiens.net/fieryfox/picture-potsdam-gardens-17504.html - both sooo "cool"! Uploaded late January, discovered and popular in February?
www.globosapiens.net/gloriajames/slide-shows.html - there are 6+8=14 nominations for PoM in the latest two slideshows alone!
There are so many others, ive only gone back to members that have uploaded a lot. Please do also consider a vertical shot in future, main-page design could be altered accordingly or a seperate award? Judges decision is final, no problem with a member winning two awards within a month or in a row! Staff please do award...

Hello Rudi,
spacesout's island was among my favourites, too. She made the run for potm feb 05.
Thanx for your help,
andy

Bonjour,
Since I don't log daily, nor do I have the time to read most forum, I was honored to read this post. It is great to know that pictures/reports/slide shows from all the globo family are regularly seen by my co-members.
The month of Feb did have marvelous pictures as all months, Rudi was able to pin-point the nicest. I wish I had more time to participate more within the globo-family. I try.
Thank you your nomination, Rudi. All the pictures you've nominated, and more were more than qualified for the potm shot. Congrats to all fellow-members for the great photographs.
Thank you Andrea for your official vote.
Long live Globosapiens.

Hi Andy
Eventually you could decide on a good shot....
I would really recommend you to elect winners in every categorie every single month, members are after the competition! You don't want to betray the members ;-)
Perhaps you need to make a template for the start page with a portrait picture as picture of the month to get a bigger selection of pics to chose a potm
just some thoughts...
