Hi,
I have a silly doubt as to the points awarding connected with sending postcards. After sending cards a few times I have noticed 2 points not being added to your total. Is it something temporary which will be adjusted later and not worth bothering poor Andy (who is overworked already) or worth taking up as we all aim at making Globo perfect? I look forward to hearing from my fellow members,
Thanking you,

Thanks for the reply Ravi. All I wanted was to make sure that the points one is entittled to is being added. You are right that globo is fun. Its not just fun, its one of the most brilliant travel communities around. Still I must admit one thing. Its nice to see points slowly accumulating after all that hard work, which ever area it may be.

Hi Kandath,
thank you for your notice. I can not confirm at the moment that this is not working. Could you please double check and if this is really not working post it into the error reporting forum. It will then be fixed once programming resources are available (There is a long list which needs to be done on GLOBO :-) So it will never get boring.
Best regards,
andy

Have you recieved a email saying "...xxx has just read your postcard..."?
I think the points are awarded only once the reciever checks into GLOBO using the link in the email, i.e. COLLECTS the card. I hope the points are NOT added when SENDING the postcard, otherwise one could send thousands of cards to dud/non-existant addresses just for points!
Rudi
P.S: The feature has worked wonderfully for me, also recently. Under my "activities", 64 points for that seem correct.

Thanks to Andy and Rudy. Shall have a closer look at the working of my post cards soon and report back with accurate situation rather than speculating. Rudy's points have enough to make me think !

As I said in my last message, I had a close look at the postcards and points situation. I am happy to confirm that the system is working ok. The only misleading factor is that it is not adding automatically to the Top 3 members points displayed under the online box. That's what mislead me. As it is not a major thing we can leave it at that as there are other pressings things the experts need to look at. Thanks for your suggestion as I am closing this topic now.

Recently I recieved an email saying: " [xxxx(name)xxxx] has recieved your postcard"
This was four months after sending it! It was an old friend and we now have contact again. I suppose the 2 points were added to my account those four months later!

Kris,
I believe that Rudi is correct about the points being awarded when the card is read. I do not understand why, but it might have something to do with completing the connection on the programming. Secondly, I heartily agree that the joy of globo is communicating and sharing with each other. The points are a great measure to observe the contributions that are made, but pale compared to the learning and sharing of ideas.
