While pacing up and down the pier of Santorini, I was drawn to a collection of yachts and fishing boats at the end of the pier. My intended to capture the pretty yachts contrasted against the well-worn fishing boats. The row boat was the closest sunlit object to me, so I used it to take a few measurements for light/contrast. Even on my 1" x 2" camera screen, the rowboat appeared much more appealing than the larger fishing boats and more expensive yachts. Eye of the beholder, right?
