During February of the year 2009 I made a short pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela (Saint James) together with two companions. Reaching Burgos we made radial trips to some monasteries of the area.
The monasteries and cathedrals that we visited are considered among the holiest in Spain and some of them are Patrimonies of the Humankind established by the UNESCO Organization (Suso, plus Yuso and Burgos Cathedral).
It was a mystical journey what we did, a journey that every Spaniard should do in a lifetime. Furthermore, in one of the monasteries (Yuso) were written in the XI century the first phrases in Spanish, as separated from the Latin, eliminating the declinations, so that monastery is considered the origin of our language, today spoken by approximately 500 million people in the world.
