This is an odd museum where you will see fantastic fishes in flasks taken in the Baikal Lake, the deepest in the world (1637 metres depth).
You will be introduced with the Baikal history, fauna and flora, and will be able to watch a film by Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
The views over the lake up the hill are extraordinary. There is a restaurant up there where you can have lunch before returning to Irkutsk. Try omul fish, unique in the world, a kind of endemic salmon fished in the Baikal Lake. It is delicious and not expensive.
You can get to the pleasant fishing village Listvyanka from Irkutsk by ferry along the Angara River (70 kilometres).
