It is interesting that they are so open; I would have never thought. akhila - Dec, 08 2007 08:12am Amanda, these people are more commonly known as "hijras" - for lack of an apt word, I would say - the unfortunates who cannot be categorised as men or women. They do dress up as women and are social entertainers in most weddings and childbirths in India.with the pace at which the subcontinent is moving and losing cultural/social norms- these people have just another means of earning their daily bread- on the streets of metros. mistybleu - Dec, 08 2007 09:12am Akhila, thanks for the heads up, now I feel bad...
