Legend has it that the Giant Finn MacCool needed to cross the causeway to Scotland in order to attack his nemesis - so he decided to create some stepping stones and it is at this point in Northern Ireland that is the Giant's Causeway. The myth continues as in a coastal region of Scotland (the island of Staffa) the same stones can be found.
THe Giant's Causeway is run by the National Trust which is a charity within the UK. It is listed as Northern Ireland's number one tourist attraction and is an Unesco World Heritage. It sits on the North Antrim Coast and it is 3km north of Bushmills and 15km west of Ballycastle.
