Naroro Village |
|
|
Naroro is located on the Viti Levu mainland in Fiji, and has a small traditional community which has opened up to village homestays from travellers all over the world. Up to six guests can now stay in the local village for about F$70/day (includes all traditional meals). Locals take guests on different adventures including wild pig-hunting, bili bili riding on the Sigatoka river, historic tour, and fishing for freshwater mussels. When you arrive in the village, you are initiated as a member by the village chief in a sevu sevu ceremony, where you share kava with the locals. Money you pay to the villages on arrival goes toward local village projects for the entire community.
