I wish I had a better camera to really capture this spectacular view!

Yeye, more important than a fancy camera is the ability to identify a great scene and compose the picture properly, not just point and shoot. You have these skills clear in all your photos! In size 1024 this image is crystal clear. Perhaps only the "contrast" of colours could be digitally corrected a bit, say 10%+ to increase the rating a few points from a high**** to low *****?

Mabouhay...Did you get to canoe down the Merced river? Did you know that half dome was used as the basis for the design of the logo by the company that makes outdoor clothes "The North Face"? Did you spot any bears?

Rudi, thanks!! I'm not very familiar with camera types (only have a canon powershot a520) so I just do the best I can with the camera I currently have. I'll see about how I can digitally enhance the color of pictures in the future - but first I have to figure out how to do it so I'll try to experiment a bit :) thanks for the tip!

Hi Jorge! No unfortunately, we were there for only a short while. I was with my relatives so it was mostly just sightseeing. That sounds cool though so maybe I'll try that next time I'm there!

This picture has immense depth of focus. The clarity of the water and the fine detail on the Half Dome cliffs are the defining features. I think the sophisticated cameras are not important. the only award photo in my globo site was taken with the simplest and least flexible digital camera i have ever owned.

Agree Hugh, my PoM was taken with $99 compact camera and the resulting print scanned with a borrowed second-hand flat-bed scanner then uploaded with Windows 98 on an old modem. Anyone has chances of capturing the beauty of the Earth even if they must save years to buy the simplest equipment! I love this pic Yeye :-)

... Matthias & Burak, I was wondering why the trees are skew :-) Just teasing!
