Gondaraba - Ethiopia William Easterly starts his book " The white Man Burden " with a story about a girl in Addis Ababa (New Flower) who used to sell fire wood, which she carried for kms. Saving this money she paid her elementary school education! Very recommended book for the traveler in the developing world !
