Brimming with customers, this old-time Alexandria favourite in Alexandria's Raml Station area serves the best felafel (known as taa'miya in Cairo) ever.
The felafels are crisp and light on the outside and still soft and tender inside, perfect when tucked into a soft pita pocket with shredded lettuce, slices of sweet tomatoes and drizzled with (garlic?) sauce.
The fried white cheese (gibna beyda) sandwiches and ful (fava bean mush) are also delicious.
We had a take-away of 3 felafel sandwiches, 3 gibna beyda sandwiches and a ful sandwich for a total of LE10 (around US$1.60) - this was is Oct 2004.
